Allergies 101

These days allergies are high on the radar of most parents when sending food to school with their kids. It’s very important to check with your child’s school at the beginning of each year to see if there are any new allergies restrictions within the school.

Most Common Food allergens:

•Peanuts & Tree nuts               •Sesame seeds
•Milk                                            •Eggs
•Fish                                             •Soy
•Wheat                                        •Sulphites
It’s very important to be aware of anaphylactic allergies in your schools as well. Anaphylactic allergies are the most severe type of allergic reaction. It is sudden, severe and potentially life-threatening. An anaphylactic reaction can be caused by a food allergy, insect stings or medications. Kids with these allergies in schools have medications on them at all times to ensure they have immediate relief of such severe reactions.
Check with your school today to see which allergies are present.
